Tele-Match & IQ Test activities with the Orang Asli kids in Pulau Indah

Orang Asli are one of the world’s largest matrilineal societies in which properties such as land and houses are inherited through female lineage. This unique society is also the treasure of our beloved nation Malaysia.

Westports have been working closely with the Orang Asli community in Pulau Indah for the past twenty years through various CSR initiatives. Our continuous effort towards improving the welfare of the Orang Asli community in Pulau Indah is widely known throughout the region.

In 2017, the Conventional Department from Westports Malaysia has conducted many successful CSR programs for the children from the Orang Asli community in Pulau Indah. Recently, they added another exciting program to their list.

An interesting mix of Tele-Match and IQ Test were held in the community hall located in the Orang Asli village in Pulau Indah. Twenty three Westportians from Group C - Conventional Department, together with their Supervisors and Managers, worked together in organising and coordinating the CSR event.

A total of 70 Orang Asli kids were part of this successful CSR program. The goal of the activity was to increase the close tie between our employees and the community of the Orang Asli. Most importantly, the activities emphasised the importance of education to the kids from the Orang Asli community.

The day ended with a prize-giving ceremony followed by a lunch session with all the kids. This initiative was organised by Mr Yusmin, Manager of Conventional Department, alongside his colleagues Mr Sarkuna, Mr Thena and Mr Raani.
